kolo sells limited products in made to order batches

kolo means wheel in Czech, as odd as that may sound, the idea behind the brand was to make sure that the brand adopted a mind-set of a circular economy.

Having worked in eCommerce for years, I've seen first-hand how over-buying product leads to wasted materials and massive discounts at the end of the season.

That's not how it works at kolo.

Fabric is ordered

I design the collection and then based on the interest I've had in it, I take a wild punt at how much fabric I need. I really don't want to order too much, and I'm pretty risk averse, so I'll generally order the smallest amount I think I will need. This means only a specific number of trousers can be made.

Choose your trousers

This is the exciting bit. I'll add the trousers to the site and you can choose what colour, size and leg length you want to buy. Once I hit the number of trousers I can make based on the amount of fabric I can order, you won't be able to buy until next time. The product page will say the expected delivery date.

This is when you pay.

The studio makes the trousers

Once all of the orders are in. These are sent to the factory for the time slot I've agreed with them. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for the trousers to be made.

Your trousers get sent to you

The factory then send all of the trousers to me. I check that the quality is 100% on every single pair. Then they get sent out to you.
